A Green Political Alternative to the Two Parties of Capital - Converge For Climate Conference

Howie Hawkins - 2014 Gubernatorial Candidate for NY State on the Green Party ticket

- Kshama Sawant - Seattle City Councilmember for Socialist Alternative Party

Brian Jones - 2014 Lt. Governor Candidate for NY State on the Green Party ticket

It is clear that many attempts to pressure Democrats and Republicans to move the country's energy system to a new sustainable energy policy has proven to be unsuccessful.

Both Parties have presided over an era of ecological destruction, domestically and internationally. Both Parties continue to place obstacles in the discourse for a global shift to climate justice by either not participating or by not signing onto nor leading the charge in accomplishing the goals set out by such international bodies. Both Democrats and Republicans have received millions in campaign funds and lobbying money from the major Coal, Oil, Natural Gas industry for decades.

Join us for a conversation about the need to create a sustainable society through the creation of new political parties that break with the Two Party stranglehold by the Democrat and Republican Parties.

This is a part of the Converge For Climate Conference leading up to the People's Climate March.
